Expected Path to Engineering Discipline Major based on MATH Starting Point

• Partial schedule shown (Math, FEP Core courses, some science courses only). Students typically take 15-18 credit hours per semester and will work with their academic advisor to complete their schedule with other necessary courses related to their intended major.
• Courses in BOLD are the 6 FEP Core courses required to move to engineering discipline major.
• Academic advisors will work with students who do not place into one of these math “starting points” to create individualized plans to graduation or who have a significant number of AP or previous college credits.

Starting in: MATH 155 or higher

Students starting in MATH 155 or higher are expected to move to their engineering discipline major at the beginning of the third term (fall of the second year).

Early Admission to Discipline Major : Students starting in MATH 155 or higher and earning a cumulative GPA 3.5 at the end of the fall term may be eligible to move to their engineering discipline major at the beginning of the second term.

Starting in: MATH 153

Students starting in MATH 153 are expected to move to their engineering discipline major at the beginning of the fourth term (spring of the second year). Students may expedite their entrance to their engineering discipline major by taking ENGR 102 during the summer between the first and second years.

Starting in: MATH 126

Students starting in MATH 126 are expected to enter their engineering discipline major by the beginning of the fifth term (fall of the third year).
